The Sun City Concert Band was organized in 1979 by Clancy Wolf, who also directed his own Polka Band. When he formed the Concert Band, there were twenty members of the Polka Band who became the nucleus of the new organization.
Clancy Wolf was succeeded by five different directors, most prominently Jack Lowman and Lua Syckes. In September 1988 Jack introduced Walter Moeck to the band, and he, in turn, became the next conductor. Following Mr. Moeck’s tenure, Charles Musgrave, music educator and professional musician,
took the baton. The year was 1998.
In 2004, George Zoske, music educator and professional musician, was named Principal Conductor, and served in that capacity through 2018 . In January 2019 Dale Gleason (cover photo) was
appointed Principal Conductor. Unfortunately, health issues made it necessary for Dale to return to Seattle. Ken Jeager will assume the position of Principal Conductor.
